Monel 400 (UNS N04400, NCu30) Alloy Structure Monel 400 is a high strength, single phase solid solution that is the most corrosion resistant alloy with the highest quantity, versatility and excellent all-round performance. This alloy has high quality corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and fluorine gas, and has excellent corrosion resistance against hot concentrated alkali. It is also resistant to corrosion by neutral solutions, water, sea water, atmosphere, organic compounds, etc. An important feature of this alloy is that it generally does not cause stress corrosion cracking and has good cutting performance.

This alloy has excellent corrosion resistance to fluorine gas, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid and their derivatives. At the same time, it is more resistant to corrosion than copper-based alloys in seawater.
▲ Acidic environment: M400 resists corrosion in sulfuric acid with concentration less than 85%. M400 is one of the few important materials in tough hydrofluoric acid.
▲ Water-borne corrosion: M400 alloy not only has excellent corrosion resistance under most water-borne corrosion conditions, but pitting and stress corrosion are also rare, and the corrosion rate is less than 0.25mm / year.
▲ High temperature corrosion: M400 maximum continuous work temperature in air is usually about 600 ℃. In high temperature steam, the corrosion rate is less than 0.026 mm / year.
▲ Ammonia: Due to the high nickel content of Monel 400, it can withstand corrosion under anhydrous ammonia and ammonia conditions below 585 ℃.
