In the application of various titanium alloy products, forgings are often used in steam turbine compressor disks and medical artificial bones where high strength, high toughness and high reliability are required. Therefore, forgings not only require high dimensional accuracy, but also require materials with excellent characteristics and high stability. To this end, in the manufacturing process of titanium forgings, the characteristics of titanium alloy should be fully utilized to obtain high-quality forgings. Titanium alloys are difficult to forge and are prone to cracks. Therefore, the most important thing in the production of titanium alloy forgings is to properly control the forging temperature and plastic deformation.
 
Application fields of titanium alloy forgings:
1. Aerospace field
50% of the world's titanium is used in the aerospace industry. The body of military aircraft is 30% titanium alloy, and the amount of titanium used in civil aircraft is gradually increasing. In the aerospace sector, titanium forgings are used in fuel tanks for rocket and satellite propulsion engines, self-controlled engine casings, blades for liquid fuel turbo pumps, and inlets for suction pumps.
2. Steam turbine blades for power generation
Increasing the length of the blade by a steam turbine with a thermal power generation is an effective measure to increase the power generation efficiency, but the blade lengthening increases the load on the rotor.
